Welcome to The Holding Pattern, a brand new platform to promote and foster the talent of undiscovered and independent creativity.

We are a market place that offers digital sales and licensing revenue where all artists can host, share, sell their work, and still retain total control of all their copyrights.

Our sole purpose is to give power back to the artist, their fans, and allow people to explore and discover music they've never had the opportunity to listen to before. We're doing this by stacking our virtual shelves with the most diverse and comprehensive collection of undiscovered and independent music on the planet.

Regardless of the type of music - whether it be Indie Rock, Jazz, Hip Hop, Indigenous or even Classical music, artists have never had the opportunity to be discovered, listened to, and ultimately paid for the music they produce.

The Holding Pattern is also a marketplace, and has been created for purchasing music for both personal and commercial levels of use.

We've provided a completely free platform for artists to upload their music and control the price they wish to sell their works for, of which 80% of sales for personal use goes to the artist!

We also enable purchasing for commercial use, providing a platform and access to a diverse and comprehensive library of music from leading undiscovered and independent artists from around the world to use in commercial projects. Our intelligent, quick and innovative commercial platform offers immediate access to automatic licensing and provides the opportunity of earning real cash for artists and exposure through release from commercial sales, of which at 80% also goes to the artist!

Discover and Explore through The Visualiser

We believe that the drive to search and discover new music has been lost. We've become lazy and reliant on current music sites and search engines in a failing music industry to inspire us. Until now...

That is why our 'Visualiser' has been created to educate the user by displaying all the categories of music in an innovative floating 3D musical DNA. This unique visual search is interactive and allows the user to listen and purchase, while exploring the vast musical world. This will allow more artists the opportunity of being discovered, listened to, and hopefully sustain their talents from real sales.

Who are we?

Nick Arnold (Founder & Managing Director)

Nick's been a musician for 15 years, been signed to a major publishing house in LA, played in many bands and toured the world with his music. As a composer he has scored music for many films, tv shows, and theatre projects, and like many musicians is still playing in a band and loving every minute of it. He understands from first hand experience the frustrations of being a musician in an industry that is competitive and ruthless. "An artist needs all information to be completely transparent when dealing with their copyrights and selling their tracks. The last thing an independent artist wants to hear is we own you. Or, sell your tracks with us but you can't sell it anywhere else, or we'll take a percentage of your royalties. The Holding Pattern has been created by a musician, for musicians. We don't own anything! It's an autonomous platform designed to give the independent and undiscoverd musician the freedom to decide what price to sell to their fans, and also the opportunity for creatives to access this wealth of independent and undiscovered music for public broadcast. We don't take any percentage of any royalties, that is wrong and not the model I wanted to create, or be involved with."

Nick remains an independent musician and understands the difficulties of maintaining a career in music. Struggling to make ends meet, whilst striving to gain exposure at the same time is not easy...that is the life of an independent and undiscovered artist of ANY genre of music. This is why The Holding Pattern has been created. To make sure ALL that is independent and undiscovered has a free and creative voice to come and go as they please. To create a sustainable platform where all artists are equal, regardless of genre of music. By maintaining and never losing the independent identity, and being part of a greater collection for a bigger picture.
